# Revoke a hosted-checkout session

> Kill a leaked link.

<api-operation method="POST" path="/v1/businesses/{biz}/checkout_sessions/{id}/revoke">
<template v-slot:docs="">

Kills the link immediately: the session token stops resolving, so EVERY /checkout/v1/* route answers 401 — including the readable ones — whether or not the buyer had already opened the page. A hosted checkout link is public by construction (minted, then mailed or forwarded), so waiting out its TTL is not a remedy. Independent of the session's lifecycle status: a `completed` session is revocable on purpose, and revoking it also ends the idempotent replay that /checkout/v1/complete would otherwise still serve. Idempotent — revoking twice reports the same `revoked_at` rather than moving it. 404 for an id that is not this business's session.
