# Revoke a customer portal session

> Kill a leaked link AND its session.

<api-operation method="POST" path="/v1/businesses/{biz}/customers/{cus}/portal_sessions/{id}/revoke">
<template v-slot:docs="">

Kills BOTH halves of the portal session at once. A link that was never opened can no longer be exchanged, and a session already opened from it stops resolving — so every /portal/v1/* route, the readable ones included, answers 401 from that moment. Independent of the session's lifecycle `status`: a `created`, `logged_in` or `logged_out` session is revocable, and `status` is left unchanged. Idempotent — revoking twice reports the same `revoked_at` rather than moving it. 404 for an id that is not this customer's session.
