# Stop transacting in a currency

Removes the currency from the business's enabled list AND deletes its rate and provenance — both halves, because either alone leaves something untrue behind: an orphaned rate the daily refresh keeps updating and no screen shows, or a sellable currency with nothing to convert it by.

Prices and invoices already in that currency are UNTOUCHED. An invoice carries its own `exchange_rate` snapshot, so historical conversion survives the live rate being deleted — that is what the snapshot is for.

The business's own default currency is refused (400): every other rate is quoted against it. Change the default first.
